Driftless Area- dramatic hills located in southwestern Wisconsin and parts
of Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota that were untouched by the receding glaciers
15,000 years ago.
Ocooch- name given to the Kickapoo valley hills, stretching from Spring
Green to Viroqua, that were once home to a small band of Indians called
the Ocoche. To the Native Americans, Ocooch literally meant “waters with
many fish”.
